Senior Men A2 Result - Round 2, 2007-2008
An inspired performance with bat and ball from fill-in Sam Baidya guided WPHC to a first innings victory over ARL.
Sam posting a top score of 33 runs in the middle order to push the WPHC total to a moderate 180 . He then followed up with a sharp bowling spell that produced 4 for ?? off 8 overs.
This was a dangerous fixture for WPHC as ARL had convincingly defeat Galston Glenorie (last years finalists) in round one. Furher James Makin lost the toss and were forced to bat in cold and pamp conditions.
Every run of the 180 was fought for as no strong batting partnership was establish.
Brad Hingle took the new ball for the first time thi year. Despite his reluctancy in using a brand new pill he controlled the new ball swing well and kept the pressure on ARL's chase.
Well done boys keep the momentum going.
