This was a great team effort with good contributions from a number of players. Hornsby won the toss and put us in to bat. We managed to score 244-6 with contributions from J. Fox (24), F. Shamsi (39), S.Baker(40), P. Heidegger (55) and P. Lees (36 NO).

With the second innings only starting just before 4pm this was always going to be a race against time. Disciplined bowling from all in the fading light resulted in us knocking over their last 5 wickets for 20 runs as they chased 40 runs in the last 7 overs with 5 wickets in hand. The wickets were shared by all 7 of the bowlers together with great fielding resulting in 2 crucial run-outs towards the death.

The game was played in a wonderful spirit and all credit must go to Hornsby who decided to make a game of it when they could have taken the light towards the end of the game.
