Seniors A2 Result - Final, 2006-2007

Parklands - vs. Galston Glenorie 24/03/2007 & 25/03/2007

Result - WPHCCC 1 / 81 drew with Galston Glenorie 162. (WPHCCC win premiership on table position)

Day 1 - Team arrived early to see that Parklands was a litle green but with a 33 degree day beckoning it was going to be a hard call for the captain to decide what to do. WPH won the toss and put Galston Glenorie in to bat.
2 early wickets , one by Jobbo , the other by Macca was exactly what was required. Soon after Boony went down in the outfield after twisting his knee , so the man had to take a rest. Hendo and Chandana were at the game and acted as substitutes, thanks fellas. Galston rallied and were 2/76 until Hollywood took a great diving catch from behind the stumps off Flanders bowling. GG had another good partnership and were travelling well at 3/112 until the introduction of Doohers , who was brilliant. Doohers line and length enticed the batsmen who couldnt help themselves and gave easy catches behind the wicket. Top fielding by the team in general , James Makin with 3 slips catches , Hollywood , Bones and Macca with one each. Voice after starting up his own business on Saturdays was back the finals and bowled terrific , taking the final 2 wickets and reducing GG to only 162.

WPH started poorly with Volc hitting a short ball to short mid wicket. The bowling was very tight and GG really were trying to raise an effort. Jamaican (29*) & Bones (41*) (aka. Giraffe / Inspector Gadget) batted brilliantly and took WPH into a winning position by being not out at the close of play at 1/81.

Day 2 - Rain overnight seeped through a third of the covers and at 12pm the match was called off with WPHCCC named Premiers for 2006/2007!
