Seniors A Result - Round 10, 2006-2007
WPHC 5/96 (M.Dawson 33*) defeated Kissing Point 95 (P.Stott 4/25, M.Spaldo 3/16)
Playing against the last placed Kissing Point, it was important that we continued some of the momentum we gained after previously beating St Ives. Snumpty won the toss, and the boys decided that we should stick to chasing, as all our wins this season have come batting 2nd.
We got off to a great start, with Zouk and Snumpty bowling tight opening spells, and also picking up 1 scalp each. The stage was then set for Spaldo and Trouty to continue their bowling romance, and their 16 over spell once again allowed us to dominate our opposition. For the 2nd week in a row, Stotty took 4 wickets, and Spaldo bowled economically to claim 3 victims as well. Our fielding remained tight, and Spaldo took a ripper of a mark on the boundary, to dismiss their danger man. Troy took 3 catches and another great stumping, as we rolled Kissing Point for 95.
Games are never dull when West Penno are playing, and this continued to be the case. At 1/42, we were looking the goods, with Afgan and Zouk at the crease, but we soon fell to be 5/46. Smokey and Trout then came together, and the pair looked at ease, as we cruised past the opposition's score, just after drinks.
It has been a great start to 2007 for our team, so hopefully we can continue this winning form for the rest of the season.
