Round 2, Day 2 (4th October)
Another big weekend. The highlights were:
+ While it is early days, we have 9 of our 11 teams in the top 4!
+ Alex Connell (C2 Red) scored his first ton with 105* - our 288th century for the Club. Well done Alex.
+ A1 came back to earth losing to Kissing Point - the team they beat in the Final last season, in a nail biter.
+ In A1. Chris Thorburn (at 15 our youngest A Grader since Daniel Ward in 1996/97 scored 26.
+ The best in A1 was Matt Batt who continued his great form with another punishing innings of 70. Simon Davies, who scored his 3,000th run in the Final chipped in with 48.
+ You can always tell that water restrictions have been introduced with rain - and in A2 in happened and the game was washed out.
+ Last Round we started the season with 9 wins and 4 outrights. This Round we came in at 6 wins, 1 draw with 3 outrights - well done
+ An understrength B1 had another super win against last years Finanlists and won with Skipper Tim Coverdale again batting superbly with 74
+ In C1 (Red), Nishane Pillay continues his super form with 127 runs in 2 Rounds for once out
+ Individuyal performance of the week came from Phil Clarke (C1 Red) who took match figures of 7/72 and scored 52 runs
+ After 2 Rounds our Team standings are:
A1 7 points (3rd)
A2 8 (3rd)
B1 16 (= 2nd)
B2 7 (5th)
C1 Blue 16 (=1st)
C1 Red 11 (3rd)
C2 Blue 16 (1st)
C2 Red 7 (6th)
C3 10 (4th)
D1 20 (1st)
D2 7 (=4th)
+ In the Club Championship we are sitting 1st - ahead of Kissing Point and Galston Glenorie.
