West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook Cricket Club Est. 1930

Welcome to the West Pennant Hills Cherrybrook Cricket Club. Our Club was established in 1930 and the upcoming 2008-09 season will be our 78th continuous year as a Club. In 2008-09, Kanga enters its 17th straight season and we will register our 1,600th since we started in 1992. This makes us one of the oldest Kanga centre in NSW and possibly Australia.

The following information is provided as early information to help you to understand how Kanga will operate this season.

What is Kanga?
Kanga has been specially developed by the Cricket Australia to provide introductory cricket activity for all younger ages using modified equipment and rules – reduced ground size, plastic bats, stumps and soft ball.

Kanga is meant to be play, before children develop the more structured game based on organised competition. Everyone gets an equal bat and bowl – there is no such thing as a good or bad Kanga cricketer – all of our children get equal opportunity.

Our aim is to:
 provide enjoyment for all
 develop the basic skills of cricket
 develop team spirit and cooperation
 provide equal opportunity for all to participate, and
 develop a balanced attitude to competition
 provide an opportunity for parents and grandparents to come along and enjoy the game as part of our local cricket community.

We want to provide opportunities for all our Kanga children to have fun, play with their friends, make new friends and develop their sporting capabilities.
