Junior Boys Under 11 Blue Result - Round 10, 2007-2008
Although we finished the season on 13th spot (out of 17 teams) we achieved lot this season where the position on the table does not reflect how the boys went. Just a few things to keep in mind:
• We had the toughest draw of any Team in the Comp. In our 9 games we ended up playing the top 6 teams and then add Berowra we ended up playing 7 of the top 8 teams. The draw from ‘hell’
• We lost to upper Hills by 2 runs and the strong WPHC Green team by 15 runs
• Our team played to the spirit of the Club’s policy of ‘Participation Over results’ where everyone was given equal opportunity to shine throughout the year – many of the top Teams did not do this. John’s mum, Denise, our successful U13 Blue Coach says at this age Premierships are nice but not that important. The important result is that the kids get a go at this age – building strength for future years. This was achieved.

Match Stats
Won 3 Lost 6 Drawn 1
A very unlucky season as we lost some very close games but a positive for next season is we played all the top six sides in which we came very close to beating them. But overall everyone tried really hard& was given a fair chance with batting and bowling.
With a little bit of luck next season we can get into the top 4 !!!!
Season wrap
It would have been good to win more games but the kids had fun and with a bit of luck we will get a good turnout next season and have a bit more fun.
Thanks
A huge thanks to Raj for the many hours put into turning up to practice and games – a big commitment. Also to our Scorers who were always there for this thankless job – James and Scott especially. Also to our Umpires – Raj (again), Scott and Niranjan.
Finally to our parents – what a fabulous turnout every weekend – rain and shine. This level of support helped to make this a good year.
Raj, John and Ross
