First match of the new year and the boys were full of enthusiasm and energy after the Christmas break.

The toss was won by the Blues who elected to bowl on a very long grassed outfield, and with style... The Reds were all out for 70. A true team effort, everyone chipped in with some good bowling and great catches. 22 maiden overs, 5 catches and 10 wickets - what a great day for the Blues. Wynston was outstanding with 2 excellent catches. Joel also took 2 catches and Sahil 1. In the bowling 2 wickets for Sahil & Jake, and 1 wicket each for Joel, Karan, Ashane, Stephen, Aiden & Amol. Fielding was of good standard.

At close of the first day the Blues could go home very satisfied, but with some hard work to do with the bat if the outfield isn't mowed next week.

However the next day of play was not to be. Rain and more rain saw to that. It has been a season of rains this time and not much cricket unfortunately.
