We got back into the winners list with a comprehensive win over Galston-Glenorie. After a week of rain and with most games not getting underway it was touch and go if we got on. After using sawdust on the approaches and shortening the boundaries we played a 28 over a side game.

Losing the toss and batting first we batted well to get 5/133. Darcy (24) and Owen (7) put on 41 in 9 overs for the opening stand and this set us up very well. Others to do well with the bat were John (20), Ben 14 and Harry a hard hitting 11 runs.

Our turn to bowl and we did this well on a narrow pitch. We bowled and fielded well and kept them to 1/77. Ben’s direct hit for a run-out was the highlight. While we didn’t get many wickets the Galston team were more intent on survival against good bowling. It is difficult to get wickets in this situation. That said, our bowlers did very well – Arjun 0/4 (off 4 overs), Joel 0/9 (4), Sid 0/5 (4), Harry 0/2 (2), Owen 0/1 (2), Darcy 0/16 (3), John 0/6 (3), Jed 0/14 (3) and Ben 0/8 (3).
