Junior Boys Under 9 Sky Result - Round 3, 2007-2008

WPHCC U9 Sky has been unbeaten so far in all matches played in this season including this match against Kissing Point Black.
Kissing point Black started their inning promisingly until Sachin got Kissing Point first wicket out followed by Jack, Darshan, Thushira, Aaron and Leon who also got 1 wicket each. Kissing Points hammered few boundaries but in many times Sky bowlers and fielders restricted batsmen to singles. It was brilliant bowling from Shane and Dharshan who maintained good line with only giving 1 wide. It was much better improvement from Shane with compared to his previous matches. Thushira got a batsman out from his very first bowl of the inning proving his position for the encouragement award for this week. Leon bowled 2 overs and got 1 wicket for proving him as good all rounder. With accurate bowling and brilliant fielding, boys were able to restrict Kissing point inning to 6 for 59. Wicket keepers Brendon and Nam did an excellent job behind the wicket without giving any byes. Nam entertained the crowd with his wicket keeper actions behind the wicket.
WPHCC sky inning started with superb unbeaten partnership between Leon and Jack. Leon hit 5 boundaries for his 31 and Jack played brilliant drives with one boundary for his 13 runs. Sachin and Aaron made 24 runs unbeaten partnership. Aaron (17) hit beautiful big shots including a boundary. Sachin scored 7 runs finding gaps between fielders. Brendan has improved his batting and scored 11 runs. Dharshan scored 9 runs proving his position as the player of the match this week. Nam took 4 runs and Josh scored 3 runs saving their wickets. Shane and Thushira scored 6 runs between two.
In general it is pleased to see that most of the boys have got the concept right in the games that is to communicate between batsmen in order to minimize the number of run outs, find the gaps when hitting to the bowl, and most importantly run when there is a run and well co-ordination on the field. A point of improvement was that Sky dropped couple of catches and missed couple of run outs due to throwing the bowl into the wrong end or no one at the stumps to take the ball when fielder throws the ball. Good all round team work and well done coach.
Payer of the Match ( Sky Team): Dharshan Naidu
