U12®

On the first week we won toss and bowled. It was cold and windy and this made it hard. We also only had 9 players – some with injuries and others unavailable so we had to work hard in the field. We started off really well having them 2/9 but then our fielding and bowling lost the plot. We let through a lot of byes and we conceded 52 extras. Last match we only let through half that number. That left a massive total for us to chase (242). So far this year we have batted very well and if we were going to win we needed to score over 200 runs which we have never done before.

We got off to a great start with Madds (61) and DA (60) putting on 128 off 18 overs. Me and Madds have now put on 239 runs in 2 matches without a wicket. Angus got 1 of his highest scores with 26. Sid also got 29. Chris, Cal and Pranav finished it off with a rapid fire 9 to Chris and 22 to Pranav (HS) and Cal (21 which was his 2nd HS).

Today was our best ever batting performance with 7/291 and this was scored in only 49 overs at an average of almost 6 runs per over. Today was also the first time we had ever passed 200 and we nearly made 300!

Next match we will have to work very hard on our fielding to make sure we don’t have to chase 200+ again. While Castle Hill are a good side against the very good sides our effort in the field when it gets tough can be improved. We are now 1st on the table.
