Junior Boys Under 13 Blue Result - Round 1, 2007-2008
U12®
After rain last weekend we finally got on. Our team is pretty much the same as last season with Eric joining us. We played Castle Hill White in a 1-dayer
We had our problems before we started with James Asquith breaking his hand at school and Madds dislocating his finger at practice. Ronic is also overseas so we only had 11 players but this didn’t stop us.
A high point was our fielding which had a massive improvement from last year, for example Cal and Matt who fielded very well. Eric also fielded well.
Our bowling was also very good with Chris and Angus both were on hat-tricks but just missed it. The best part of our bowling was that we hardly bowled any extras which is heaps better than last year’s average of 40-50 per match. Hazza bowled well and Sid bowled quick and accurate as always.
The batting was dominated by DA and Madds with a 111 run partnership chasing 121 runs. Matt batted really well at the start to set a platform for the rest of the innings while facing some very good bowling. Next week we will move DA and Madds down the order and give the people a go who didn’t bat.
Ryan bowled consistently and Pranav bowled with limited opportunity but did it well.
Next match we need to be more enthusiastic in the field and keep doing what we’re doing – things like walking in with the bowler and encouraging others in the field.
Good luck to anyone trying out for reps and a special thanks to Madds for playing with a dislocated finger. Next week we play Castle Hill RSL green at Campbell park.
