Junior Boys U12 blue Result - Round 9, 2006-2007
u12®
We lost our last game of the season and we expected to win, only needing 153 runs on a fast ground. Last week we bowled well to get them out for 152. Sid was our best bowler with 3/15 from his 8 overs and this now gives him 22 for the season. Hazza and DA got 2 wickets each. James finished with 1/17 and is bowling very well.
The target should have been easy. The ground was fast and there was nothing in their attack to cause us any trouble but they bowled well. DA got 34 with our next highest score being Madds with 26. Sid got 13 with James and Ronic both getting 7. We needed to have at least one player go on and get 50 but not this match. Hazza played his best shot of the season when he smacked a big 4 that almost went for 6.
We only batted for 29 overs so scored fast but just not enough runs. In the time left they batted again and we bowled like we should have in the 1st innings. At the end of the day we had them 6/42 and showed what we are capable of. Our bowlers really did well. Ryan and James Asquith each took 2 wickets, Matt Hingle and DA got wickets and there was a run-out. This showed what we Are capable on doing.
While we didn’t make the Semi Finals we came 7th out of 14 teams – just behind Normanhurst. On our day we can beat anyone but just managed to lose some games we should have done better in
The Kimbo Cup is on next week and we play Normanhurst at James Park in a 30 over a side hit out. They finished just in front of us in the competition table and are looking forward to a big game. This is a fun comp so we can have a good time.
Thanks to Raj for Managing the team this year, Tony and my mum for coaching, Ron and Garry for scoring, Adhir, Keith and Peter for umpiring and all the parents who turned up every week to support us. It is really good having supporters at the games. We had lots of fun and can’t wait until next season.
