Juniors
How about our U13 Blue side. For a couple of years results have been hard to come by and they even lost a game 2 Rounds ago outright. But after a lot of perseverance they won on the weekend – and got an outright in the process – their first ever. Well done fella’s.

Seniors Results
A1 147 and 0/26 Vs Berowra 66 – our rollercoaster season continued. We batted first and were bowled out for 147. Despite the heat the pitch was a little damp and had plenty of grass. Alex Robertson scored 52 on A-Grade debut and Smoke scored 31. We then ripped Berowra apart for 66. Matt Spalding and Scott Henderson were awesome and had them 6 for 15 at one point. Spaldo finished with 5, Hendo 3 and Smoke Dawson 2. We’re 0/26 in our second innings.

A2 127 Vs ARL – 5/53 – after winning the toss we elected to bat on a very grassy deck at the Glade. We started off quite badly, losing early wickets and being 6/54 at one point. We ended up with a decent score, on a pitch that offered everything to the bowlers, thanks to Tim Rae who played a very controlled and errorless innings with 63 in the middle order. This allowed us 29 overs for our bowlers to have a dig at the ARL top order. Wickets were spread around and we were unlucky not to get a few more as we bowled very tightly, getting the ball in the right areas. Definitely a big chance to win this one, and could quite possibly be decided on 2nd innings.

Colts Red 83 Vs Normanhurst-Warrawee 113 – not much to report on this one. We were able to keep Normanhurst to a low score on a poor, cracking strip. Unfortunately Normanhurst dismissed us for an even lower score with the pitch getting progressively worse and lower. The highlight was Carl Madsen's 4/14.

Colts Blue 1/73 defeated Kissing Point 71 – a Turramurra special awaited us as we rocked up on Sunday, the pitch consisted of dust or long grass and not much in between. Winning the toss, stand in skipper Tim Scoular was greedily eyeing wickets and sent Kissing Point into bat. However, a decent start from Kissing Point's opening batsmen had them looking comfortable at 0/37 after 15 overs. However Michael Dale stepped up with the ball and picked up 5-21 with Chris Milojevic taking 3 sharp chances behind the stumps. Shashankh kept the pressure up from the other end and with only 7 batsmen, Kissing Point were all out for 71, nothing should be taken for granted at Turramurra though, and the early loss of Chris Milojevic created a few nervous faces however Sam Klienhans (34) and Michael Dale (29) delivered us home safely from 15 overs, without losing their wickets. Congrats boys on our first win for the season.

B1 4/72 Vs Berowra 143 – a good all-round effort from the boys in some testing conditions. After winning the toss and deciding to bowl we consistently took wickets through some great bowling by all the bowlers,Rowan Keating 4/40 of 14, Ryan Cherrie 1/19 off 12, James Kealy 2/19 off 9 and Scott Jobson 3/36 off 12. These guys did a fantastic job as we were probably one bowler short and maintained the pressure as we bundled Berowra out for 143 a below par total on a fast Thornleigh oval. Our innings again started poorly in which we were 3/26 at one stage, but a nice cameo from Tim Worthington 33 has put us into a good position and with 2 batsmen coming into the side for wk2 we should reach our Berowra’s total with some sensible and disciplined batting. This is a great chance for us to really consolidate our position in the top 4.

B2 1/39 Vs Berowra 240 - a long, tough, hot day on a very fast field, we did well to restrict them, where anything through the infield rockets to the fence. Pick of the bowlers was Duncan Moore (3/38), with Geoff Richards (2/26), Nick Starr, Isaac Malamar, Tim Starr and James McBrien (1 each) also chipping in, with James also holding on to 2 catches, taking his tally to 6 for the season. Going in and batting out 10 overs, Alex “Fathead” Connell (15) was the only casualty, with Nick and Geoff Starr both 11*. A good chance next week on a fast outfield with a batting lineup coming off 400+ in our last dig.

C1 1/63 Vs Castle Hill 193 – a very good effort at a hot, windless Gilroy Oval. Losing the toss we got the worst of the conditions and fielded. Apart from a brief session where one of their hitters made an impact we took wickets regularly with all the bowlers chipping in. Jas Singh bowled very well getting a lot of edges and getting 2 to be held. John Steel again ran in hard and took 3 wickets. Add to this Craig Hutchinson who got 2 and also slowed the run rate down and 193 on a reasonably fast outfield and we would have taken 193 at the beginning of the match. Our turn to bat and see through the remaining 24 overs. After an early wicket, Kishore with 15* and Ross A 36* saw through the overs to have us in a very good position overnight.

C2 1/66 Vs Kissing Point 186 – we rolled Kissing Point for 187. 112 of that by the Captain (and he was dropped/few half chances reasonably early as well), next best score of 12. Chris Williamson best of bowlers with 3/33. Jacques was also good getting 2/12 off his only 5 over spell at the start. Batting in reply we had 20 overs to face with Russell Ingram coming out with intent, blasting 41 in 6 or 7 overs. We then steadied to finish overnight with Chris Wliimason and Amesh currently in. We are well placed to win this one, sensible batting should get us there-pending on how quick we score and can maybe then bowl them out.

C3
White 2/198 defeated St Ives 116 - after losing the toss in 40 degree heat on a flat Headon deck, we could have easily dropped our heads and expected a long afternoon in the sun. However, we buckled down, and played good positive cricket, in a re-match of last years C2 Final. We took wickets at regular intervals, dismissing St Ives for 116 in only 28 overs. Bowling honours were shared by Ashane De Silva (3/21), Taki Manolelis (3/32) & Brett Hawkins (2/28). The key was our plan of just keeping it simple and bowling at the stumps....it paid dividends with 7 bowled's, 1 LBW & 1 caught behind. Our turn to bat, and we did a great job of grinding them into the dirt. Kramer Richards (73) & Pratah Sinnetamby (71) put on 139 for the first wicket. We finished the day at 2/198, and are certainly looking build on that lead with quick runs next week as we push for an outright result.

Blue 5/102 Vs Berowra 151 – well winning the toss seems to be getting harder, I lost it again and guess where we ended up, yes, fielding in this heat.
It took a few overs for us break the openers, but we also need to practice our catching as we dropped a few today. Once the first couple of wickets fell, there was a partnership that kept us busy, but we were able to finish them in 40 overs for 151. Arun the King of swing finished with 4/22, Vikas bagged himself 2/19 follwed by Vishnu, Rahul & Ian each taking a wicket.

Batting got off to a shakey start, but Vikas and Vishnu soon took charge, Vikas lost his fight to a great catch & Vishnu lost his wicket caught behind, Rahul & Ian are batting & should be able to see us through to the total. We finished the day on 5/102.

D1 264 Vs St Ives3/17 – we won the toss and elected to bat first at Bannockburn Oval and once again a good team effort. Most pleasing of all is that the run makers this week were different from those in previous games. We have a few players away this round but are well placed, should we manage to attain a few early wickets again next week. A win here will consolidate our position in the top 4.

D2 190 Vs Kissing Point 2/20 – with a scorching temperature predicted this was a very good toss to win, our decision to bat straightforward though our middle order was somewhat depleted and our tail-end rather long. Despite the loss of early wickets our batting was held together by another fine innings from Niranjan Sundararaj whose 90 runs kept us in the game. Along the way he was ably assisted by Sam Thariani (22) and Luke Christensen (15), who made good his promise at the nets last Thursday to “bat responsibly this week”, while Nikhil Suresh (8) played a handy rearguard innings with the tail. Our total of 190, while a lot less than we might have hoped for, still gives our bowlers something worthwhile to defend.

That defence began well when both our opening bowlers, Joshua Murray-Howard and Ankit Grover rose to the challenge, each claiming a wicket to have Kissing Point 2-20 and the game balanced on a knife’s edge at stumps.

The final day of this match may present us with our toughest challenge yet as our bowling attack, assembled at full strength for the first time this season, prepares to defend our modest total against a Kissing Point team that has plenty of solid batting yet to come. The stage looks set for yet another thrilling finish.

Watties – Australian All Star
Got to hand it to Andrew Watts (C1). After getting a random email seeking people interested in playing as 12th man for the ACA All Stars Vs Aus XI Twenty/20 match. Live on Ch 9 Sunday night 22/11. In the words of Andrew:

“Basically I entered a competition and was selected as 1 of 20 people to fly to Brisbane on Friday to take part in "a game of skill" which is basically a net session (bowling 5 overs, batting 20 mins and some fielding) against the other 19 to be selected by people from the ACA and Johnnie Walker. If I don't make it then I just get to hang in Brisbane( 5 star hotel) for the weekend and go to the game then fly home on Monday.

Anyway if I get selected I will transfer to the team hotel, attend training, do PR maybe interviews etc. Sit with team, get fully kitted out and maybe (i hope !!!) get some time on the field. In the All Stars team is Warnie (c), Gilly, Hayden, McGrath and coached by Dennis Lillee.

So everyone, stay tuned to see if Andrew becomes our first Australian All Star”

“John’s catch”
Just picture it. A high ball goes up between John Mitchell and John Steel (C1) with both running for the catch off a player who was starting to motor along. A fielder calls out “John’s Catch” problem is they are both John’s so both kept going for the catch. Fortunately the catch was taken by John Mitchell with a collision all but happening.
