Seniors
A1 191 lost to ARL 9/194. A fantastic effort against the top placed team. We almost got there with a 12 run last wicket partnership getting them across the line. Matt Spalding was the star with 3/36 off 18 but with good support from Amir 2/32 with the remaining wickets well spread. We should finish 5th and miss out on the big games this year.
A2 170 and 2/115 lost to Kenthurst 6/292. Day 2 was always going to be a tough day but we came back well. After they smashed us to get 292 (our best bowling figures were Steve Quanborough 2/47 (from 6 overs) we did the job well 2nd time around. Tim Leyshon brought up his 2,000 Club runs during his 51* and Ranga showed some of the form we know he can deliver with 58.
Colts 4/173 defeated Kenthurst 165. A big win against 2nd placed Kenthurst ensuring 4th spot and a semi final position. A great all round performance from the team with our run chase led by an aggressive Nick Bennett scoring 97 and just missing out on his 1st ever century - through sheer exhaustion!. Nick scored 97 of our first 148 runs in better than even time in what I would class the most dominant innings played by a Colts player for this club. Nick was ably supported by Mr Reliable Scott Henderson with 28 n.o. Bring on the semi finals
B1 Blue 233 defeated Normanhurst 206 – another god performance from the lads - out of contention but firing. Ryan Cherrie got 47, Glen Oconnor 46. Simon Joyce wih 43 got the runs. Alistair Rayment with 2/15, Andrew Joyce 2/28 and Rowan Keating 2/26 did the job with the ball.
B1 Red 279 lost to Normanhurst 8/280. A unexpected loss after being run down by 6th placed Normo. While there were a series of questionable umpiring decisions we made it tough by putting down catches.. James Mielnik with 3 wickets just keeps delivering with 3 wickets with Nathan Orton 2. We will make the top 4 but the only issue is where in the table.
B2 9/272 defeated Nth Wahroonga 268. One of those important wins close to the Semi Finals chasing a big score under pressure. After Justin Paterson’s 5/51 last week this time it was the batsmen’s turn. Andrew Mills got 77, Andrew Fiedler returned to form with 47. What about Tim Connell scoring his first ever 50 and then comes Ben Nolan with 31* batting at No 10. We will come first by a long way and go into the Semi’s with some very good form.
C1 304 defeated Normanhurst 297. A huge win to keep our hopes alive. A combination, of overconfidence with 304 on the board, some positive batting, a few dropped catches and this game turned into a fight. We got there at the end with some inspired bowling by Chris Collits and Andrew Watt. Still a chance of making it with 1 game to go.
C2 204 defeated Kissing Point 107 – an important win after a few recent stumbles. Best news is that our bowling is back on song with Rolf Rasmussen taking 4/16 and Rloand Flanagan 4/61 set us up for a comfortable win. Bring on the Semis.
C3 163 and 3/71 lost to Glenhaven 262 – the run cahse was just too big on the day. Peter Heidegger with 74 and Rama Ramachandra 37 sttod out as our best with the bat. Peter then backed this up with 31* in the 2nd dig.
D2 155 and 1/8 defeated outright Hornsby 59 and 103. How good is this team playing this time against a team just 5 points away from them. This emphatic victory was achieved another great bowling and fielding performance by this team that is firing up at the sharp end of the season. The star of our bowling attack today was James McBrien, taking 4 for 16. Some great catches, too, notably by Tim and Geoff Starr, and another two run outs - something we seem to specialise in. While probably not enough to knock Kissing Point off their perch as minor premiers, this big win should cement securely us in second place as the semi-finals approach.

Representative stars
The telegraph Shield boys play in the Final on Sunday 25th February against Camden, at Raby 2 WPHC players are in the team – Peter Stott (A1) (Captain), Matt Spalding (A1), Nathan Orton (B1), and Adam Walter (B2). The team is also coached/brought cold beers after the game by our own Simon Smyth. If anyone is interested in coming along and showing your support, the lads would love to see you there.

‘The Proposal’, now, ‘The Answer’
Last week we reported that big Chopper Boon (the man who reckons he can lose a “kilo is a toilet session”) proposed to the love of his life, Vez through 'Who Weekly'. This week the answer. In a world exclusive we know the answer is ‘Yes’. This marriage will be made in heaven Chopper has already set his objectives for the union “knock this one over (the wedding), get her pregnant and have the baby, Chopper stays at home and she works (a smarty with a Uni degree)”. Ain’t love grand.

Likely Finalists
There is now just 1 game to go and then into the Semi’s. Following is a best guess about who will make it through to the big games. We will have at least 6 teams and maybe 7 there at the end - a very good performance:
Colts - 4th
A2 – 3rd
B1 Red – 2nd
B2 – 1st
C1 - =4th (quotient to possibly decide)
C2 – 3rd
D2 – 2nd

Those just missing out but looking forward to next season will be:
A1
B1 Blue
C3

Personal achievements
Congratulations to Tim Leyshon who brought up his 2,000 career runs yesterday.

Some big ones coming up:
• Tim Connell needs just 1 wicket for his career 200
• Simon Smyth is 4 away from his 200 wickets.
