Seniors
Round 11 is now finished – our last 1-dayer for the season played in 40 degree heat that challenged everyone. There are only 3 Rounds to go before the Semi Finals start. Results are:

A1 120 lost to Berowra 196. After making a run for the semi’s with good recent performances we came back to earth. Bowling first we kept them to a reasonable total, with Smokey Dawson 3 wickets, Matt Spalding 2 and Chris Rae 2 all doing their job. At 2/70 we were tracking well but fell away after that. Welcome back to Peter Whitehead with a super 44. .
A2 6/248defeated Beecroft 184. A big game against Beecroft. Michael Banner with 126 and James makin 57 were outstanding. Well done to Michael Banner who scored 126 – our 324th and his 4th, taking Michael into the top 15 individual century scorers for the Club.
Colts Vs bye. No game this week.
B1 Red 84 lost to Kenthurst 3/88. The top 2 teams faced off with a heavy loss to the boys. Tim Millington with 20 was our best but just one of those days.
B1 Blue 132 lost to Castle Hill RSL 2/137. Just not enough runs on the day. Scott Jobson was the standout with 57 but didn’t get the support he needed to build on this platform. After having them 2/40 and a bit shaky they did this easily.
B2 – 9/208 defeated Kissing Point 207. A thriller that went down to the last over. We got away with this one with 2 balls to spare. With 2 overs to go we were 9 down and still needed 20. Enter Andrew Percival who did the job including a four to win the game. Big Gav Hassett with 86 was outstanding. In the bowling, Adam Hutchings 3/40 and Tim Connell 3/62 took the wickets. A fabulous win by this talented team.
C1 250 defeated Beecroft 130. We have been saying for some time, put the full strength team on the paddock and this is a hot side. Playing 2nd placed Beecroft they were belted. In the batting, runs were spread with Jon Nesbitt 46, Nathan Fathers 46, John Mitchell 39, Tony Hadley 39, Andrew Watt 37 all scored well and fast. In the bowling, Chris Collits was the destroyer with 4/16 from 8 overs including 3 in 2 overs. Add Kishore 2/10 we swamped this fancied team. Still a chance to make the big ones and if there will make an impact.
C2 192 lost to Kenthurst 252. A game affected by 3 dispensations that allowed A2 players to play C3 and the inevitable happened. Phil Hando with 68 was super Sandeep scoring a good 41. Our boys did well but this game was affected by much higher grade players being allowed to play. A bit of a whinge but it is reality.
C3 125 lost to Wahroonga 5/128– one of those games, unfortunately with a replay of our last game against Wahroonga. Must be something about this team. Last time we dropped 12 catches, this time is was 8 or 9.
D2 9/206 defeated Kenthurst 144. A powerful performance from this talented side. James McBrien (67) and Nigel Moore (43) again scored well while Matt Thomas (3 for 22) and James McBrien (2/37) was best of our bowlers. In the hot conditions it was in our fielding that we really performed. A great catch in the deep by Tim Starr and Michael Hobern and Duncan Moore combining in a run out not once but twice were among the highlights). An important win in this tight competition.

Sharp as a bowling ball – 4
We have a talented team in WPHC who just keep on delivering. C1 Captain Kishore Rampersad is the standout this week. After winning only his 2nd toss of the year Kishore was opening the batting when someone in the opposition made a comment about this being a one day game. Not in Kishore’s book – definitely a 2-dayer. Kishore now joins Tim Connell in this esteemed group of Club Captain’s.

From Canada with love
Spare a thought for John and Pat Nesbitt who just got back from a skiing holiday in the snow fields of Canada. Handling temperatures of -23 degrees with wind chill added on top the lads came back to 40+ at Campbell Park – with both playing lead roles.

Sorry – a new Club record
Evolving Club legend Bryce Morley (C1 superstar) has already been written up in our History as being the player who has said “sorry” the most times in a match to everyone from Umpires and batsmen. Yesterday Bryce was bowling very well until a couple of full tosses were unleashed at the number 9 bat. We lost count at the number of “sorry’s” given to the batsman but it was something more than 10 – in one over! Bryce you are a legend.

Representative stars
How about our future stars in the U16 rep team. The lads played in a major tournament at Armidale in early January and won the Final by 1 run against some very good teams from around NSW and Qld. What makes this special is that of the 12 people in the team, 10 were from WPHC plus the Coach (Evan Hutchings). Well done fellas.
