10th September update
We are underway – for our 60th season – well sort off with the wet weather accepted.
Legend
Congratulations to Club legend Greg Fiedler and family after Greg’s Great Grandfather (Kerry’s side) was inducted to the Australian Rugby League Hall of Fame on Tuesday night. ‘Chook’ Fraser has now made this esteemed group so if you see Greg around just offer your congratulations.
Umpires training
We are fortunate to have Barry McDonald as our Club Chairperson who is also a State Umpiring level qualification and has been a long term A Grade umpire – the most respected in the Comp. Barry will be holding an Umpires seminar next week. Feel free to come along to get a refresher or just see how much of the rules you may have forgotten. Details are:
• Where: Auditorium, Pennant Hills Bowling Club, 52 Yarrara Rd Pennant Hills
• Time: 7.30pm Wednesday, 13th September 2006
Match reports
From next week we will start the web based Team Match Report (Seniors and Juniors) sections on the website up again. This was very popular last year. If anyone is interested in doing this for their own team then juts let your Captain know. It is genuinely easy with my 8 year old doing the Reports for his team. Stay tuned.
Seniors
Weekend results
Normally we do a quick around the grounds but this week it is easy. Wet day, no play, the end. All matches revert to a 1-dayer next week starting at 1.00pm. Technically the games should go for 35 overs a side. But as this will extend to around 6.00pm it will be too dark and we will see a few draws. Probably an idea to have your Captain agree to 30 overs a side to make sure we get a result.
Wet weather
Just a reminder that the wet weather contact number is 8230-0144. Unless a ground is closed everyone needs to turn-up and a decision made about play at the ground. A decision is made at 11.00am and usually not before.
Fees
A lot of folk have paid so well done. If fees have not been paid they need to be by next Saturday please – 16th September so please also keep this in mind. Thanks.
Insurance
We have an arrangement where everyone who plays is covered by top-up Insurance. For those folk who have not completed a form last year (this will test the memory) we will need you to fill out the forms your Captains will have over the next week or so so that everyone is covered.
Juniors
Like the Seniors, all matches were washed out so we play 1-dayers next Saturday.
Girls
Registrations can continue to be received right up to the season start and in some case beyond. Practice will also be arranged at a specific time and place closer to the start of the season.
Kanga
Registrations
Registrations are about to close with 110 children now registered to play – just 2 shy of our ground capacity.
