If you are interested in putting something back into the game then he is a great opportunity. Any senior player who takes on the role also has their fees covered by the Club. Interested then just let Ross Anderson know on 9476-0595.
Key dates:
• 1st game Saturday 9th September (Seniors and Boys)
• Girls and Have-A-Go October (details to be advised shortly).
Association news
The Season is all set to fly in Junior’s and Seniors.
In the Seniors, the usual Saturday Comp will be up and running as usual. However, there will most likely also be a Sunday Comp comprising 1 day games only and starting in October. More will follow on this so stay tuned.
On Monday the Association votes on changing the number of overs for 1 dayers – no change for C1 and lower grades with 35 per side but a possible increase to 40 per side for Grades A1 to B2. More will follow on this one.
Seniors
Practice
Our last Seniors practice is on next Saturday. Details are:
• Where: Sports Club nets – right outside the WPH Sports Club at 103 Newline Road
• Time: we kick off at 1.00pm and go through until dark
If we haven’t seen you yet then as teams are selected over the week it might be too late so if you haven’t been along please make the effort.
Selections
Teams will be selected next Saturday during practice. We will be selecting people on the basis on who has registered and who has turned up to practice. So if your schedule has been too busy to be seen then there is a big chance that you may miss out. If this is the case then please let your Captain know from last year know asap. Thanks for this.
Fees
A lot of folk have paid so well done. If fees have not been paid they need to be by the first Round – 9th September so please also keep this in mind. Thanks.
Sports Club Membership
We are very fortunate to have a long standing association with the WPH Sports Club – our gathering point after games. Every senior player qualifies for free membership but we just need to get the appropriate forms completed. these will be sent out during the week.
What to expect
Next week everyone will be sent a note summarising what to expect for the first game and throughout the season. So all the questions you might be thinking about will be answered so stay tuned for this info.
Juniors
Teams are still being finalised and will be announced shortly. Pre-season practice is at the discretion of the Team Manager and Coach but most teams kick off unofficial practices a couple of weeks before the season starts. Once the season gets underway official practices are scheduled on a specific day each week. More will follow on this.
Girls
Registrations can continue to be received right up to the season start and in some case beyond. Practice will also be arranged at a specific time and place closer to the start of the season.
Kanga Have-A-Go
Registrations have been very good. On Rego Day we had 84 children register Vs 53 last year. We are now up to just on 105 registrations and are rapidly approaching capacity. So any interest then please contact the Kanga Executive – their contact details are on the ‘Have-A-G0’ website section.
Kingsgrove Sports Centre
We have just concluded an arrangement with Kingsgrove ‘Westside’ at Parramatta to promote their store. We also get Club benefits based on levels of custom. If you use Kingsgrove then anyone from our Club gets a 5% discount on gear purchases plus you help the Club.
So when you come along to Rego day you get your Club Loyalty Card and it is that easy.
Bradman Oval match
As one of the ‘events’ to celebrate our 60th Anniversary coming up this season we have booked Bradman Oval for Sunday 3rd December as a Club Day. So stay tuned and we will keep you informed of next steps.
